Chris Senetra
Born in Tarrytown on the Hudson, New York, Chris and family
moved to upstate New York, where she and four brothers were
brought up on a 160 acre farm. After attending State University
of New York at Albany, she left N.Y. on a one-way motorcycle
trip that took her to California, then Arizona.

In 1989 Chris certified as an Open Water and Advanced Open Water diver through NASDS in the cold water kelp beds of California, then left for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to sell dive trips and work as a quide. In 1996 Chris and Marty (Bird's Capt. Marty), moved to Florida and subsequently became full cave certified.She is an SDI Assistant Instructor, cave diver, and holds a Master Captains license. Chris and Marty finally tied the knot on a BirdsUnderwater dive vacation in Islamorada, Florida. Ain't Birds romantic!
