Bill "Bird" Oestreich has been teaching technical diving in cave, mixed gas, and rebreathers for over 20 years with an exemplary record of thoroughness, patience, and a strong emphasis on safety. The classes we teach @ Bird's Underwater cover the full spectrum or technical diving. Offered courses range from Intro to Cave, or Basic Cave, and nitrox, through Cave Instructor and Trimix Instructor Classes. That's right. We teach the teachers.

CAVE CLASSES:
Cavern:
Cavern is the prerequsite for all other cave classes. It is a 2 day class covering proper gear configuration, buoyancy and trim, reel handling and line skills, touch, visual, and light signals, and situational awareness, as well as defining the limits of penetration you're trained to achieve.
This course is $275.00 per person with a 2 person minimum. Use of any necessary gear is included. It can be combined with Intro or Basic Cave as a 3 day course for $500.00
Intro to Cave or Basic Cave:
Intro or Basic allows you penetration beyond the light zone, now in some cases in doubles. All of the skills taught in cavern are reviewed and enhanced. And now you're truly diving in caves!
Intro or Basic are both 2 day classes and cost $300 plus any admission fees and gas. Use of any needed gear is included.
Apprentice Cave Diver:
Apprentice allows builds your Intro or Basic skills and allows simple jumps off the main line. This is actually a subset of Full Cave and is only good for 1 year before you complete Full Cave.
2 days, $450.00 plus admissions and gas. Use of gear is included.
Full Cave Diver:
Full cave is where the fun really begins. You'll build more skills and plan more complicated dives with multiple jumps, as well as circuits.
2 days, $450.00 plus admissions. By now you should have your own gear so we do charge a reasonable fee for renting any gear you'll need.
