This was our first experience of swimming with the manatee. Our captain, Rhonda, did a great job of preparing us for the adventure and instructing us on what we can do in their inhabitant. The snorkeling was amazing and the manatee were plentiful and playful. We were the first boat in the area and it was great to have the experience with a small group of people. Bird's has a appreciation for the animals and was very respectful of their environment. Rhonda also did a great job of getting everyone involved with the manatee. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone - especially in the December or January timeframe.



This review is about a year late, but from the other reviews I see nothing has changed. We went out with the fine crew at Bird's as well as rented one of their houses (on the Hall's River). The trip was fantastic and the crew of course delivered a magnificent time. They tend to go out much earlier than the other boats, thus you get in before the crowd arrives. The river is crystal clear and of course getting to see the magnificent animals up close and personal is something you will remember for a lifetime. The house we stayed in was very neat and clean, nothing fancy but cheaper for us to stay at a house since we had a group of 7. It is right on a feeder to the Hall's river which is a beautiful little spot to explore via kayak (one is provided). All in all I can't say enough about Bird's.
